Naoko Ito was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1954. She studied URUSHI (Ancient Japanese technique of lacquer) and received her BA at the Kyoto University of Art. She studied metal work at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Visuels et D'Architecture and Rijeks Centrum Hoger Kunston Derwijks Brussels, Belgium
