A Retrospective Of Medallic Art And Small Sculpture
Leonda Froehlich Finke (1922–2017) is a preeminent American figurative artist. Known for sculpture of varying size and drawing, this comprehensive exhibit of small-scale sculpture celebrates Finke, who passed away in spring 2017. Finke has received honors from the American Numismatic Society, American Numismatic Association, the National Sculpture Society, and the National Academy of Design. She was a founding member of the American Medallic Sculpture Association (AMSA), and was a longtime member of The Century Association, Sculptors Guild, and the Fédération Internationale de la Médaille d’Art (FIDEM). Her work is in many collections nationally and internationally, including the Smithsonian Museum’s National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of American Art, both in Washington, DC, as well as The British Museum.
