For the duration of the exhibit, Medialia Gallery is collecting donations of comix & art books for The Dorothy McGowan Residence in-house library and adult literacy initiative. Located in Washington Heights, The Dorothy McGowan Residence is a three building inter-generational supportive housing program founded by CLOTH—Community League of the Heights—and coordinated by Community Access Inc. The Dorothy McGowan is comprised of 52 single occupancy studio apartments for young adults who have aged out of foster care, and adults with a history of chronic homelessness.
